The Children’s Place – Corporate
Headquarters Relocation
Secaucus, NJ
The Rock Brook Consulting Group
was selected by The Children’s Place (TCP) as their
Consulting Engineer for their Corporate Headquarters
Relocation Project in Secaucus, New Jersey. Rock
Brook provided consulting engineering design and
project management services for TCP’s new 160,000
square foot corporate headquarters in a Class A
multi-tenant commercial office building in Secaucus,
New Jersey. The project included the construction of
a new state-of-the-art 5,000 square foot Data Center
with Tier II infrastructure.
As part of this project, Rock
Brook provided professional Mechanical, Electrical,
Plumbing, Fire Protection, Audio/Visual and
Information Technology engineering design services.
In order to accommodate TCP’s various lease
expirations around New Jersey, the design and
construction of this project was extremely
aggressive. The Children’s Place also selected Rock
Brook to provide project management and owner
representation services to facilitate the execution
of this fast track project.
The commercial office renovation
portion of the project included the design of new
supplemental air conditioning systems, electrical
power distribution and the upgrade and design of a
new telecommunication infrastructure.
The Data Center engineering and
information technology infrastructure included the
design of redundant power, cooling, fire protection
and telecommunication systems. Infrastructure
included new Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC)
Units, a new 225kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply
(UPS), multiple Power Distribution Units, a Clean
Agent Fire Suppression System and a new
diesel-fueled Standby Generator System with
associated emergency power electrical distribution.
Rock Brook also provided Data
Center Commissioning services as part of this
successful, fast track project.
STS Tires, Inc.
Bridgewater, NJ
Project included the
construction of a new grass roots 200,000 square
foot tire storage warehouse building with
approximately 15,000 square feet of commercial
office and an overall building height of 40 feet.
The Rock Brook Consulting Group provided
professional Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and
Fire Protection engineering design services as part
of this project. The building was designed with a
pile support foundation due to the existing
geotechnical conditions on the property. As part of
the project, Rock Brook performed an evaluation and
analysis of the site fire water distribution system
that would be required to support the new building.
Rock Brook also provided electrical engineering
related design services for the installation of a
new Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Array System that serves
both the new warehouse building as well as an
existing STS warehousing building located on the
same site.
Johnson & Johnson Master Siting
Strategy
Multiple Locations
Johnson & Johnson selected The
Rock Brook Consulting Group as the consulting
engineer for their most recent master siting
strategies project across New Jersey and
Pennsylvania. The intent of the project was to
construct new strategically located commercial
office spaces throughout the New Jersey and
Pennsylvania area in order to allow Johnson& Johnson
to consolidate portions of its portfolio and to
provide state-of-the-art office and conferencing
spaces for its employees that telecommute. The
project included the design of new commercial
interior spaces at various locations. Rock Brook
worked very closely with the project Architect,
Gensler, and J&J’s office planning group.
Professional services included engineering design
and contract administration.
Schering-Plough New Jersey
Integrated Occupancy Project
Multiple Locations
The Rock Brook Consulting Group
provided Schering-Plough with consulting engineering
services as part of their New Jersey Integrated
Occupancy Project. The intent of this project was to
survey and evaluate each of the building properties
in Schering-Plough’s real estate portfolio in order
to allow Schering’s executive staff to make capital
decisions on real estate consolidation.
Rock Brook evaluated and
analyzed the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and
Fire Protection related infrastructure in each
building and developed formal reports that were
utilized by Schering-Plough’s construction cost
estimator to develop a variety of scenarios that
would allow both the consolidation and the
improvement of commercial interiors for office
planning. The scope of the project included millions
of square feet across multiple sites in New Jersey.
The construction cost estimates and professional
recommendations developed by Rock Brook were
presented directly to Schering-Plough’s Executive
Committee.
BlackRock Realty
Florham Park, NJ
Renovation of
approximately 25,000 square feet of Class A office
space in Florham Park, New Jersey. The project
included the design of high-end conference room and
meeting areas. It also included the design of a
small Data Center with a new UPS System, standby
generator system and automatic transfer switch.
Generator system commissioning was performed as part
of this project given the criticality of the newly
constructed Data Center.
Alpharma 2nd and 3rd Floor Renovation
Bridgewater,NJ
Rock Brook performed the
engineering design of approximately 100,000 square
feet of office space (60,000 square feet on the 3rd
floor and 40,000 square feet of the 2nd floor) in
Bridgewater, New Jersey. This project involved the
relocation of Alpharma’s Corporate Headquarters and
included the design of CEO executive areas,
boardrooms, etc. The engineering infrastructure
design included energy-efficient HVAC systems,
lighting control systems, and water consumption
reducing plumbing fixtures. The project also
included the construction of a new Data Center.
Breeze-Eastern Corporate and Manufacturing
Relocation
Union, NJ
Rock Brook developed the
engineering design for a 130,000 square foot
renovation project for Breeze-Eastern Corporation. The
renovation project included the relocation of
Breeze-Eastern’s Corporate Headquarters including
the relocation of its office, manufacturing,
assembly and warehousing operations. The project
included the construction of a new corporate Data
Center with N+1 redundancy for HVAC and electrical
systems. The Newark Legal
Center
Newark, NJ
Approximately 420,000
square foot high-rise Class A office building, whose
primary tenants work in the legal field. As the
building’s consulting engineer, we are assisting the
building management with renovations and upgrades to
the building infrastructure. In particular, the
building HVAC controls and energy management systems
are being modified to improve the energy usage, as
well as the buildings comfort conditions. In the
process, Green Building Council environmental
sensitive features were gathered for future
consideration. We have also performed miscellaneous
renovations within the building for tenant fit-out.
BPG Morris Crossroads Corporate Campus
Mount Olive, NJ
Complete analysis of 1.2
million square foot facility for mixed use,
including retail, conference center and
hotel/condominiums. Design services included new
fitness center supported by new HVAC and power
system, chilled water, hot water and emergency power
back-up. Matrix Development - 32
East Front Street
Trenton, NJ
The grassroots design
of a 70,000 square foot multi-tenant building
including mixed use. The project included the
overseeing and design of HVAC, electrical, plumbing,
and fire protection engineering services. Mixed use
design for retail was located on the first floor,
and floors two through five were multi-tenant. This
building was awarded The Smart Growth Leadership
Award for 2006.
Advance Realty, Eisai Pharmaceutical
Woodcliff Lake, NJ
The
grassroots design of a 210,000 square foot U.S. Headquarters
facility. The project included the base building
design of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire
protection systems for the building. Amenities
within the space included support of a
kitchen/cafeteria, open plan, conference and closed
office areas. Core & Shell systems included energy
efficient design of cooling towers, and HVAC
distribution with a balance of first cost control.
Daiichi
Pharmaceutical Corporation
Madison, NJ
Full renovation of 150,000 square foot building to
house U.S. World Headquarters on a preserved site.
Included new Data Center on raised floor supported by new N +
1 redundant HVAC and power systems. Systems
designed for standby generator support of Data
Center and all MDF/IDF rooms. Data Center and
document storage spaces protected by pre-action and
clean agent systems. Special care was taken in the
design to preserve key components of the existing
systems in an effort to reduce the project cost of
construction. New supplemental steel was required
to support the addition of the Data Center and
document storage areas.
Microsoft Corporation
Iselin, NJ
A 23,000 square foot renovation for a sales and
training center. Critical spaces included the 70
person multipurpose room, cabling room and executive
board room. The design required the separation and
redesign of existing main electrical and mechanical
systems to fit this tenant into a portion of a
multi-tenant space. Responsibilities included
review of the MEP portion of the lease.
10 Exchange Place
Jersey City, NJ
Exchange Place Center is a 30-story, 700,000 square
foot multi-tenant Class A office building located
at Jersey City’s Hudson Waterfront. We have been
retained as the owner’s engineer for the building to
provide continuing HVAC, electrical, plumbing and
fire protection services for the fit-out,
renovation, and operation of the facility.
Quest
Diagnostics - World Headquarters
Madison, NJ
Designed a video conference, sound production studio
for the Chairman of Quest Diagnostics. Design
services included the HVAC, electrical, plumbing and
fire protection disciplines to support the space.
Our design team worked with the acoustical and audio
visual consultant to meet the sound requests and
environmental conditions of the space.
Schering-Plough – Commissioning
Kenilworth, NJ
Developed and executed commissioning protocols for
Schering-Plough’s Print Shop and Mail Room
Relocation Project in Kenilworth, New Jersey. The
scope of the project area was approximately 9,000
square feet. Commissioned systems include new air
handling units, compressed air system, plumbing
system, and space conditioning verifications.
Schering-Plough – Backfill
Kenilworth, NJ
Renovation of building K-11 including upgrading
power distribution systems serving executive offices
and open office spaces. Design focused on the
current and future demands on electrical systems as
the quantity of electronic equipment in the office
spaces tend to increase. It also addressed the need
for greater harmonic mitigation due to the
increasing non-linear loads.
Schering-Plough – Fitness Center
Kenilworth, NJ
Provided professional HVAC, electrical, plumbing and
fire protection engineering services of Schematic
Design development for a new state-of-the-art
fitness center for Schering-Plough in Kenilworth,
New Jersey. The schematic design effort including
the specification of new HVAC systems, a new
incoming electrical service entrance as well as
sanitary, storm and domestic water service entrances
to the new fitness center building. Rock Brook
coordinated the requirements of the engineering
infrastructure with the project architect to conceal
the infrastructure and provide an architecturally
aesthetic-looking fitness center building for
Schering-Plough’s employees
Schering-Plough – Print Shop &
Mail Room Relocation
Kenilworth, NJ
Developed schematic design documentation and a basis
of design narrative for Schering-Plough’s Print Shop
and Mail Room Relocation Project in Kenilworth, New
Jersey. The scope of the project area was
approximately 9,000 square feet. It involved the
schematic level design of new air handling units and
a new electrical service entrance to the facility as
well as the engineering systems and equipment
required to support the Print Shop and Mail Room
operational requirements for Schering-Plough’s
corporate headquarters.
Johnson & Johnson
- Johnson Hall 1st and 2nd Floor
New Brunswick, NJ
The Rock Brook Consulting Group provided
professional engineering design services for the
renovation of approximately 43,000 square feet of
Johnson & Johnson commercial office space at Johnson
Hall in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The engineering
design included the design of new branch supply and
return ductwork, ventilation, etc. as well as new
branch circuit wiring and associated power
distribution. The scope of the project included
high end corporate offices, conference areas and
open teaming areas as well as a server room.
Plumbing and fire protection engineering design
modifications were completed in accordance with the
architectural layout. The engineering equipment and
systems were designed in accordance with J&J’s
Worldwide Guidelines for Office Buildings and
included the specification of energy-efficient
equipment and systems.

1st and 2nd Floor
Roseland, NJ
A
100,000 square foot fit-out renovation of HVAC,
electrical, plumbing and fire protection of multiple
floors for the headquarters of the fifth largest
accounting firm, including training spaces,
executive office suites, and conference center.
Ethicon - Cafeteria
Somerville, NJ
Due diligence of a 22,000 square
foot renovation of a manufacturing space to
cafeteria space. This renovation required all new
HVAC and plumbing systems. The sprinkler system was
modified to accommodate the new requirements
including high temperature heads and a deluge system
for window coverage. New electrical panels were
required with some kitchen equipment requiring
standby power. Energy saving features included VAV
HVAC systems, lighting controls and water saving
bathroom fixtures. |
